CONSERVATORIES
Experience, Reputation & Quality
Our wealth of experience has helped us build up an excellent reputation and working relationship with both clients and many local authorities, who now know if Strata is carrying out the project it will be organised and completed to a high standard following the correct procedures and regulations.
Our vast experience in project management ensures your project will flow smoothly, on time and to your chosen budget. We strive to ensure the process is stress free for our clients, consulting them throughout. Not many companies can boost dedicated surveyors, designers, tradesmen and service engineers. Many have members of staff trying to cover several areas, the ‘Jack of all trades’ scenario.
We appreciate your home is your castle and will always respect clients and their property. We want you to recommend us to your friends and family and be the envy of everyone around you. Our testimonials are proof of our extreme efforts to achieve this.
History of the Conservatory
The history of the conservatory dates back to Roman attempts to provide structures, which let in the light but kept out the cold. The Conservatory derives its name from the Italian term “conservato” meaning stored or preserved, and Latin “ory” meaning a place for. They first appeared in the 17th century, but their designs were very different to those of today. Records suggest that the conservatory in the Oxford Botanic garden was the first conservatory ever constructed in Britain.
Conservatory Uses
With clever use of design your conservatory can be whatever you want it to be. If the proposed site is south facing the design will need to encompass high levels of ventilation and shading, where as a north facing site would need to maximize insulation and light.
With advances in ironmongery we can now open up a whole side of a structure with sliding bi-fold doors and really bring the garden and patio into the living space.
Conservatory Features
Conservatory features include a full range of possibilities in materials and colours. Modern materials with improved performance are being sourced constantly to ensure maintenance is kept to a minimum and running costs are also as little as possible.
Modern paints now stretch and breathe ensuring they will last for up to five years between coats. Recoating couldn’t be simpler, it is easy and quick and up to three coats could be applied in one day.
Why Choose an Conservatory?
Conservatory designs are highly flexible and can be tailored to the precise shape of your property. The choice of colours for conservatories installed by Strata is vast, many matching popular makes like Farrow and Ball, British Heritage or National Trust, many of which are specified on listed buildings or rural dwellings, possibly within the national parks.
As well as being specialists in timber conservatories, orangeries and garden rooms, we also have a full range of coloured PVCµ, aluminum and composite products.

Our customers frequently congratulate us on our ever-polite and respectful site staff. Good customer service has been critical to our growth as a business. We carry out “spot check” customer perception surveys with our customers not just upon completion of a project but throughout the process too. We seek to harness our customers’ feedback at every step of the way and are always on the lookout for better and better ways to look after our customers.
Much of our reputation has been built on customer recommendations and referrals. We encourage our prospective customers to take advantage of two important suggestions: the first is to visit us at factory; the second is that we arrange a viewing of one of our completed conservatories. We believe you can instantly “feel” what sort of company we are when you visit, and that you will sense our commitment to quality and to our customers: come and see for yourself!
Commissioning a Orangery or Conservatory is a big decision and one to be made with due care. We believe that an important part of your decision-making process should be to visit an existing customer and receive a personal testimonial as to the quality of service we have provided them, along with seeing one of our beautiful installations “in the flesh”. Our customers are exceptionally generous in their willingness to show prospective customers around. We encourage them to talk openly with you about working with us; we know that you will receive all the reassurance you need from hearing about their experiences first hand.
